My name is Ruby. I'm a sucker for some red lipstick and anything with a love heart. Dressing up has always been one of my favourite things to do. As a child I would jump at the opportunity to wear my faux fur flower coat and several pairs of beads...not much has changed, except I have now found my ideal profession where wearing a sequin skirt to work seems kind of acceptable.

I grew up in the seaside burbs of Melbourne. I studied Acting and Theatre Making at the Victorian College of the Arts. Here I trained in voice, movement and performance and did many weird and wonderful shows. I also met the love of my life here, my beautiful partner, Pat. Our journey to the Wild West began in 2016 when we walked from Albany to Perth along the Bibbulmun Track. We now call Denmark home, and feel incredibly grateful to live among the karri trees in a beautiful community.

More About Me

My Celebrant journey unofficially began back in 2014 when I developed a one-woman theatre show advocating for Marriage Equality. I performed this show over 60 times at several festivals across Victoria. When Australia finally legalised same-sex marriage, I thought it was time that I too became legal and so I embarked on the journey to become a real Civil Celebrant... best decision I ever made.

Being a modern day celebrant is so much fun, because their are no real rules we have to follow. Together we tailor make a ceremony that reflects your love story, with just a few legalities thrown in. No two love stories are the same and therefore no two ceremonies should be either.
